Every summer for many years, my husband and I plant flowers. He’s the one with the green thumb and does most of the planting. But, I plant a few packs of Zinnia seeds in my little flower garden. I cover them with a small dusting of dirt and wonder if these little seeds are actually going to grow. I am like a child on Christmas morning when I see those first little sprouts pushing through the dirt. Days turn into weeks. The ground gets covered with foliage and buds start to appear. And then, literally overnight, POP! … a bud turns into a fully opened flower of brilliant color … then another and another, blooms of bright orange, yellow, coral and 
fuchsia. I am by no means a master gardener and my property will never look like those featured in magazines, but seriously, those first few blooms give me quite a thrill!
So what’s this got to do with anything? Many years ago, a little seed was planted in my heart … to serve preschool children and their families. Just a few short months ago, my husband and I decided that NOW was the time. I am so happy to announce that our very own seedling is about to POP! Seedlings Academy for Young Learners, a preschool serving families who live and work in the Hershey area, will open its doors this fall! It’s CRAZY and so exciting! Here’s what’s happened so far!
- We have a place! Seedlings Academy is located on Fishburn Road in Hershey in beautiful gray sided and stone building. We had the ability to design the inside to meet our goals and the “fit-out” is in process. It’s been amazing to watch a flat blue print become a 3-D reality!
- We have a logo and a website! A huge thank you to Jason Horst at Piksl Design! He is an extremely talented man and we are so pleased with what he’s created for us!
- We have relationship established with our regulatory agency, the Department of Human Services! We are proactively working with DHS every step of the way to ensure that Seedlings Academy is a healthy and safe environment for children, families, and teachers to enjoy!
- We have an incredible network of support! A great BIG thank you to the prayers, encouragers, educators and other experts who have supported our dream thus far. We have seen God’s hand at work through each of you and are humbled by your support!
