What schedule can my child have?

We are open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Parents contract a full day schedule, up to 10 hours, within that time frame. We offer 5 full day; 3 full day (Monday/Wednesday/Friday); and 2 full day (Tuesday/Thursday) schedules for all children.

What days are you closed throughout the year?

We are closed major holidays and for 3 in-service dates through the year.

What is the difference between an infant and a toddler’s time at Seedlings?

There are several differences between our responsive infant day and our toddler schedule as captured in the link below.

What is the difference between Preschool and PreK?

There are several differences between Preschool and PreK, but the most notable difference is the age and preparation involved. Preschool is for 3- and 4-year-olds and acts as a bridge between toddlers and PreK. It helps solidify the foundations our toddler teachers have set in areas of academic learning, social emotional development, and independence skills. PreK is for 4- and 5-year-olds who will go to Kindergarten the following school year. This age focuses on social and academic skills, with the elementary school goal in mind!

How do I find out about my child’s day?

Seedlings uses Tadpoles as a means of communication with parents on a daily basis. Daily care routines, personal and classroom milestones, as well as important classroom and campus updates are all communicated through this email-based phone app. Parents are asked to download this free app upon enrollment.

My child sees an outside therapist, are they able to work with my child in the classroom at Seedlings?

Seedlings encourages therapists from the area Intermediate Units as well as the private sector to visit children in the classroom and give insights to teachers. They are required to carry their clearances and follow all health and safety protocols.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

My child is going for a well child doctor visit. Do I need to fill out a form?

Yes! Please take a copy of this Child Health Assessment and have it completed at every well child visit.

What is your illness policy?

Our goal is to minimize the spread of illness in a communal environment.

What snacks do you provide?

We provide a morning and afternoon snack for children 1-year-old and older.

What meals do you provide?

We partner with PreK Gourmet of Mechanicsburg to provide healthy and homemade lunches each day.

What if my child has a special diet?

Special dietary requests will be reviewed on a case by base basis. Part time children requiring special diets will be asked to bring their own meals.

What is your stance on masking children?

At Seedlings, we do not require children to wear masks for various reasons. Instead, we support parents making that choice for their children. If parents want their child to wear a mask, we will help them do so whenever feasible and with the understanding that wearing masks is not recommended during outdoor playtime, naptime or mealtime.

Do teachers and staff wear masks?

Currently, masks are optional.

ENROLLMENT

Do you accept Child Care Subsidies?

We partner with CCW/CCIS and CCA for qualified families.

When I enroll my child, what do I need to bring for their first day?
